Cane Cutter’s Rum
Brand Identity
Cane Cutter’s tells a new kind of rum story. Rooted in the founder’s own family history, her great-grandfather was an indentured servant from India in Guyana, part of a generation whose labor shaped the country’s sugarcane fields and rum-making legacy. Rather than romanticizing the plantation, Cane Cutter’s turns its attention to the people behind the cane: the homes they lived in, the culture they carried, and the communities they built.
At the center of the identity is the Cane Cutter’s home, a motif inspired by the modest, vibrant stilted houses where Indo-Guyanese families gathered, rested, celebrated, and kept their traditions alive. Sugarcane grows throughout the system, creating a world of abundance while nodding to the spirit’s origins. A bold, playful palette draws from Guyanese cultural symbols, bringing warmth, energy, and celebration to a category too often defined by conquest and nostalgia.
Cane Cutter’s Rum cherishes the stories of the past while creating new moments of connection today, bringing people together through exceptional Guyanese rum and the shared histories that continue to shape it.
